Dallas Disabled American Veterans Group

Received Donated Electric Scooters in Honor of Memorial Day

On Thursday, May 24th the Dallas chapter of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) received three electric scooters donated by The Rascal Company of Sewell, NJ.  Chester Herron, Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Big “D” Chapter 57 and Mark Friedman, Treasurer of the Dallas DAV received three Rascal Scooters donated by James George and Russ Anderson Dallas-area mobility consultants for The Rascal Company.  The scooter donation was made at the DAV chapter office, 8630 Thurgood Lane, Dallas, TX.

“Giving back is part of The Rascal Company’s corporate culture and we are very pleased to make a donation of electric scooters to the Disabled American Veterans chapter in Dallas,’” says Michael Flowers, chairman of The Rascal Company.  “It seems especially appropriate to be able to donate the scooters as we enter Memorial Day weekend, a time to honor veterans who have served and sacrificed for our country.”

Vietnam veterans John Baker and Feliciano Prado were on hand for the donation to test and demonstrate the Rascal scooters donated to the Dallas DAV.  The scooters, re-chargeable transportation aids designed to improve the veterans’ mobility, are available in three and four wheeled models with a retail value of $3,000 to $5,000 each.

For over 30 years, The Rascal Company has designed and manufactured electric scooters for the mobility impaired. To date the company has donated hundreds of electric Scooters and Powerchairs valued at more than $500,000 to people in need.  In 2006 alone, the company donated over 30 units.  For more information on the scooters visit:  www.rascalscooters.com.  For more information about the donation event contact Joe Clark at (201) 843-5600 or visit www.Rosica.com
